Improving Daytime Sleep Pressure

Updated: Sep 16, 2025

The way to get to that beautiful consolidated night sleep is to begin with your days. Begin with tracking your baby's natural wake time each day. Natural wake time is the time baby wakes on their own to start the day. Once you have established a few days of tracking look at the earliest average wake up time for your baby. Begin to use this time as your target wake up each and every day. Bring baby out into the natural daylight, offer a full feed, and make a big deal of "Goof Morning". Stay consistent with this wake up routine and time. Your day and wake windows should follow this daytime start consistently. This helps build that sleep pressure your baby needs to have in order to fall asleep and stay asleep. Often times we see parents with wake times inconsistencies. This is off balance for the sleep needs your child needs. Consider a three day tracking of the AM wake time for your child. Once established, message me for a free guide to the appropriate wake windows to follow for your child's age. This is where we begin the magic together.
